Cookies & Local Storage
Last updated: 2026-07-18
UARTSIFARTSI uses only what's needed to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. No advertising cookies, no third-party trackers, no analytics beacons.
Cookies
- Session cookie — set by our auth provider after you sign in. Keeps you signed in across pages. Strictly necessary.
Local storage
- Theme — your light/dark/system preference so the first paint uses the right palette.
- Auth session — a signed token used by the auth client to keep you signed in.
- Browse preferences — grid size, k, filter, and jump-divisor, so returning to /browse feels the way you left it. Mirrored to your account if you are signed in.
- Post-auth redirect — a short-lived path we stash when you click "sign in to save…" so we can return you to the page you were on. Cleared as soon as it's used.
What we do NOT set
- No advertising / marketing cookies.
- No third-party analytics (Google Analytics, etc.).
- No cross-site tracking or fingerprinting.
Managing storage
You can clear cookies and site data at any time from your browser's settings ("Clear browsing data" or the site-specific storage panel under DevTools → Application). Clearing storage signs you out and resets your preferences to defaults; it does not delete your account or your submitted names.
Consent
Because the items we set are strictly necessary or reflect a preference you chose (theme, browse settings), we do not display a consent banner. If regulators in your region reach a different conclusion in the future, we will add one here.
